A fire hydrant System is a piping connection that gives access to a water system for the aim of fighting fires. Fireplug systems are installation of pipes, water tanks, pumps, hydrant valves outlets and/or hose reels as per national code part 4 and suggestions of local fire authorities. Hydrant Systems types:

(a) External Hydrant System, where the hydrants are installed within the open area of building premises it's also referred to as yard, just like the city or town water mains,
(b) Internal Hydrant System, installed in buildings or structures to be protected using hydrant valve and hose reels.

The Design of an integrated Hydrant System is as per national and international norms. We consider the capacity of fireside cistern, fire pump size, and arrangement of pipes used for the hydrant system, the pressure at hydrant point against the available fire risk.
Fire Hydrant system Internal & External: System shall be hydraulically designed to supply water flow at a minimum pressure of 3.5bars at the outlet of the remotest hydrant valve. Each internal hydrant station shall have a double-headed landing valve, hose reel, and other equipment. Internal hydrants shall be provided for each floor, landing near the staircase. The minimum flow of 2850lpm, internal hose connection and hydrant valve shall be unobstructed and shall be located near the staircase, opening to the common area. The hydrant riser shall be terminated with air release valve at the very best point to release the trapped air within the pipe network. The External hydrants shall be provided near the face of the building with the utmost spacing of 30 meters between two external hydrants. Four-way Fire Brigade inlet connections at ground level is provided at a suitable location to fill the rising mains of hydrant system, just in case of failure of pumps. Water storage capacity: Combined water reservoir with a minimum effective capacity shall be provided to satisfy the minimum requirement of the agency.
FIRE PUMPS- Separate electrical driven fire pumps for hydrant & system and customary jockey pump and diesel driven pump used for hydrant and system.
However, the diesel-driven for both the system shall be common.- The electrical pump shall be of the capacity of providing required head pressure each hydrant valve. The minimum pressure required at the farthest and remotest hydrant valve is 3.5bars and the pump head is calculated accordingly. Common jockey pump for both the systems, Common stand by diesel-driven pumps for both the systems shall be capable of pressure and head requirement of water. The jockey pump pack up shall be automatic and begin automatically when pressure drop, whereas the most pumps and therefore the diesel for both the system shall have manual pack up.
